Al-Alamein and Beit Al-Hikma discuss the reality of digital transformation and sustainable development in Iraq

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, the Media Department at Al-Alamein Institute for Graduate Studies, in cooperation with Beit Al-Hikma, organized a specialized scientific seminar entitled "Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development: A Reading of the Iraqi Experience." The seminar, attended by the Dean of Al-Alamein Institute for Graduate Studies, Professor Dr. Zaid Adnan Al-Akeeli, the Administrative Assistant, Professor Dr. Khalid Khudair Daham, and the Head of the Media Department, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Majeed Amin, was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Khadija Hassan Jassim, Head of the Social Studies Department at Beit Al-Hikma, and moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Raji Naseer Dawara, Rapporteur of the Media Department at the Institute. It included a lecture entitled "Media, Digital Transformation, and Achieving Sustainable Development Goals," presented by Professor Dr. Adel Abdul-Razzaq Mustafa, a faculty member in the Media Department. In his lecture, Professor Dr. Mustafa discussed the role of media in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and educating citizens about them. This was followed by a lecture by Mr. Hussam Khalil Khudair, Director of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence at Bayt al-Hikma, entitled "Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development in Iraq." The lecture included a detailed explanation of projects employing artificial intelligence in sustainable development in Iraq and the activation of automation systems across key government administrative sectors. This was followed by a lecture by Dr. Safad Hussam Al-Shammari, a faculty member in the Media Department at Al-Alamein Institute, entitled "Utilizing Artificial Intelligence in Raising Awareness of the Culture of Sustainability." During his lecture, he discussed the tremendous advancements in the field of artificial intelligence and the importance of investing in it to serve sustainable development in the country. The lecturers then answered students' questions, comments, and inquiries, amidst significant interaction from faculty and students in the Media Department's preparatory and writing phases. Finally, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Majeed presented letters of thanks and appreciation to the session chair, the head of the Bayt al-Hikma delegation, and the lecturers.
