The French ambassador gives a lecture to postgraduate students at the El Alamein Institute

On Monday, December 9, 2025, the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, delivered a lecture to Master's and PhD students at Al-Alamein Institute for Graduate Studies. The lecture was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Bahr Al-Uloom, Chairman of the Bahr Al-Uloom Charitable Foundation and General Supervisor, and a number of professors of law and political science at the institute. The lecture, moderated by Professor Dr. Muhammad Yass Khudair, Head of the Political Science Department, covered French-Iraqi relations and ways to strengthen and develop them, mechanisms for expanding cooperation between the two countries in all fields, including the academic, scientific and research fields, France's role in diplomacy and peacebuilding, topics of the rule of law, governance, development of administrative and legal institutions, media and public diplomacy, protection of cultural and civilizational heritage, French-Iraqi cooperation in this field, the challenges of climate change and water scarcity, and lessons learned from the French experience.

At the end of the lecture, His Excellency Ambassador Patrick Durell answered questions, inquiries, and comments from the students in attendance.
