Electoral System Mechanisms at the Al-Alamein Symposium and Al-Mu'in Foundation
The Alamein Center for Continuing Education at the Alamein Institute for Graduate Studies organized a dialogue seminar entitled:
(Mechanisms of the electoral system and their impact on the 2025 parliamentary elections)
In cooperation with Al-Mueen Foundation for Sustainable Development and Education in Najaf, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Dr. Hassan Al-Jalabi Hall.
It was presented by Dr. Ahmed Khudair Al-Ramahi, who pointed out the importance of the title, which is closely related to the future of the democratic process, the level of political awareness in society, and the ability of its institutions to produce a real representation that expresses its free will, explaining that “electoral systems are not just technical procedures for distributing seats or counting votes, but rather they are intellectual and political systems that determine the nature of participation, the form of representation, and the extent of justice in translating the will of the voters into an effective parliamentary reality.”
Dr. Ahmed Abdul Hussein Daibel, the head of the organization, explained that "the organization includes more than 150 members with postgraduate degrees, especially graduates of the institute, and it is an independent civil society organization that is concerned with political issues, the applications of the democratic process, and freedom of opinion and expression."
Dr. Ahmed Radhi, an employee at the Electoral Commission, said, "This session covered all procedures related to the voting mechanism on election day, in addition to details of the electoral systems and formulas, the mechanism for counting votes, and the distribution of seats among the electoral lists and candidates."
