A Turkish academic delegation visited Al-Alamein Institute for Graduate Studies on Sunday, October 19, 2025, accompanied by the Turkish Consul in Najaf. They were received by Prof. Dr. Zaid Adnan Al-Akeili, Dean of the Institute, Mr. Haider Bahr Al-Ulum, Director of the Bahr Al-Ulum Charitable Foundation, Dr. Muhammad Hassan Muhammad Ali, representative of the founding body, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yas Khadir, Head of the Department of Political Science. The delegation included Ms. Tuba Efrim Madin, Policy Development Expert at the SUEN Water Institute of the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Maruf Aras, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Combating Desertification and Soil Erosion at the Turkish Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Dr. Bülent Inak, Academic and Water and Environment Expert, and the new Turkish Consul in Najaf, Şenol Sevim.

Ms. Tuba Efrim Madin and Dr. Bülent Inak gave a lecture to the political science students at the institute, during which they discussed the commonalities between Turkey and Iraq, foremost among them the water issue in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. They expressed their admiration for the large female presence at the Alamein Institute, considering it a motive for optimism for a better future for Iraq and its women in particular. They emphasized the investment of all available resources, including the prestigious religious institution in Najaf, to educate people on the need to rationalize water consumption and confront climate change.

The Turkish delegation then toured the El Alamein Institute and its classrooms, where they met with students and professors. The delegation also toured the institute's vast library, accompanied by the institute's director and the institution's director of administration.
